Examinations are given each April and October. The application deadlines are February 01 for the April exam and August 01 for the October exam.
To be eligible for the exam in Kentucky, you must be a senior year student in, or a graduate of, an engineering curriculum of four years or more accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology(EAC/ABET). Engineering technology degrees are not accepted.
Canadian degrees accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board are acceptable. All other foreign degrees must be evaluated by NCEES Credentials Evaluations ncees.org. The evaluation as well as your application must be received by the application deadline.

Check the "Fundamentals of Engineering Examination" box on page one.
The test site will be Lexington or Louisville Kentucky and varies by date. You may leave this blank.
Complete only questions 1-7 and 9-15.
Question 15 - If you are a senior year student (completion of 105+ semester credit hours), complete part (a). Your department head must verify by signature your anticipated graduation date. Without this signature, your application will not be processed. A transcript is not required at the time of application.
If you have already graduated, complete part (b) and have your school mail a transcript directly to the Board.

Sign and date page 4. No fees are required with the application. If approved to sit for the exam, you will receive a letter instructing you to log onto the NCEES website at ncees.org to register for the exam and pay your nonrefundable exam fee. Do not register on this website until you have received an approval letter from the board office. Approximately two weeks prior to the exam, NCEES will mail admittance packets to those who have completed the registration process.

Retake Instructions |

For those retaking the exam, you do not have to complete a new application. You simply log on to ncees.org and register for the exam.
Retake Limitation
After July 2006, an applicant who fails the same exam three times, regardless of the jurisdiction where the exam is administered, must reapply each and every time thereafter by completing the application in full and include evidence satisfactory to the board of gaining additional knowledge. Such evidence may include, but is not limited to review courses, college courses, and continuing education courses. The deadlines for reapplication are February 1 for the April exams and August 1 for the October exams. You may not register on the NCEES website until you have received an approval letter from the board office.
